We are excited about your interest in our 2020 video challenge and can’t wait to see what you come up with as your 30 second WATER WISE GUYS ad! - January 20th: Call for Entries
- January 21st – February 28th at 5:00pm: Students or teachers may submit entries
- March 1-13th: Judging by Daphne Utilities Video Committee
- March 16th: Public voting open on top 5 to determine winner
- March 27th: Winner announced
- $100 each (up to 5 students)
- Star in your own press conference to announce your PSA
- PSA will be seen in Daphne Utilities advertisements, run on local media, and will be featured during previews at the movie theater
- Eligibility: 6-8th grade students that live or attend a school that educates students in the Daphne Utilities service area.
- Limits: Students and student groups up to 5 people may enter only one submission per group. Teachers may enter multiple groups per class/school. Each video should be no longer than 30 seconds in length.
- Submission requirements: Each entry must be accompanied by the following information:
- Entry Form
- Entry Name/Title
- Student Names
- Teacher Name
- Name of School
- Teacher Contact Information (including phone and email address)
- Submission process: All entries must be submitted electronically. Please see www.daphneutilties.com/videocontest to enter or learn more.
- Video Format: All videos must be submitted in high definition as an mp4 or MOV file ONLY. Winners must make available uncompressed video file upon request.
- Deadline: All entries must be delivered, sent, and in-hand by 5:00pm Friday, February 28th, 2020.
- Judging: Your video will be judged on authenticity, accuracy of facts and information, creativity, entertainment value, and how well it relates to the theme. Please be aware of “Disqualification Information” found in the next section.
- Notification: Winners will be notified on March 27th, 2020 by an email to the teacher or contact on their registration form.
- Disclosures: Will be required to execute full release and agree to all rules and limitations outlined in this packet.
DISQUALIFICATION INFORMATION
Your entry WILL BE DISQUALIFIED if:- It is longer than 29.99 seconds.
- It contains inappropriate language or material.
- Does not reflect the theme WATER WISE GUYS.
- Your video uses copyrighted materials, including songs or graphics. This includes lip syncs and substituting words in an original song to make it relevant.
- Your submission and/or entry form is not IN HAND by the deadline of 5:00 PM on Friday February 28th, 2020.
- You, or the school you go to, is not part of the Daphne Utilities service area.
- Your video is not in the correct format or is sent as a YouTube link or from an external “pay to watch” site.
- You are not a middle school student.
