WARNING TO CUSTOMERS ABOUT UTILITY SCAM!!
Daphne Utilities is again warning its customers to be aware of a scam involving utility bill payments in our area. We have received several complaints from customers stating they were contacted by individuals claiming to represent Daphne Utilities and demanding payment for past due utility bills.
In many of these cases, the individuals and businesses targeted were instructed to purchase a prepaid credit card and either call back with the card information or wait for a “technician” to come by and pick up the card. Customers are told their services will be disconnected if they do not comply with these instructions.
We want to remind our customers we will not call you demanding payment nor will we send anyone to your home or business to pick up a payment.
